Conklin, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A family is out of their home Monday night after their trailer is overcome by flames in Conklin.

According to Conklin Fire Chief Bill Gorman, the call came in for a trailer fire at The Fountain Bleau Trailer Park at approximately 8 p.m. Monday.

The family was home at the time of the fire. They were able to escape with their pets and without injury.

Gorman said the home was saved, which is uncommon with trailer fires.

"Usually you don't see it looking like this when we're done with a trailer fire. Usually they go to the ground, but the guys did a really nice job in knocking this down and saving most of this trailer," Gorman said.

Crews from Windsor, West Windsor, Five Mile Point, Kirkwood, Hallstead and town of Binghamton all assisted at the scene.

Broome County Fire Investigators are investigating the cause of the fire.
