Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Christmas is one of the more traditional holidays of the year.

And so as shoppers headed out to get their final gifts and goodies for the big day, Action News asked them what kind of special traditions they have during the Christmas holiday.

"During the day we go over to my daughter's house and have a big family gathering," said Conklin's Robin DeWitt, "And we have Halupki."

"We all have to be awake Christmas morning to open presents," said Breana Kiehle, "We all have to be present. My mom works every other Christmas so we sometimes wait until 4:30 pm to open our Christmas presents from Santa."

"On Christmas morning, we always have Cinnamon buns that rise over Christmas Eve," said Jessica Casolete from Owego, "We always put out reindeer food and carrots. My sister and I, and now my son, we're gonna write up the Christmas list and everything for Santa."

A number of people on Facebook told Action News getting new pajamas for Christmas was a big tradition as well.

And everyone WBNG talked to said getting together with family and friends are always part of the holiday tradition.
