Spring snow creates dangerous roads

(WBNG Binghamton) Snow created a messy scene on local roads and highways causing dozens of accidents.

Traffic on Interstate 81 was backed up around 10:30 p.m. Sunday because several tractor trails were stuck on Hospital Hill Road. Traffic reopened around 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Minor accidents and several cars were also stuck along Interstate 88 and Route 17.

A section of Route 11 was shut down after a car slammed into a utility pole across from the Kirkwood Motel around 8 p.m. Sunday.

Broome County 911 dispatchers said the dozens of accidents they dealt with were minor as of 11 p.m. Sunday. They also said no one was seriously injured in the county.
