Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Johnson City Rotary Club decorates a local roundabout in honor of Independence Day.

Each year the Johnson City Rotary Club covers the roundabout at Riverside Drive, Floral Ave and Route 201 in red, white and blue.

The club says they placed approximately 100 flags in the ground around the roundabout and gardens along the side of the street for the Fourth of July.

This is the seventh year the club has decorated the area.

"It's something that lifts up the entire community. It reminds us that we are Americans," said Rotary Secretary Ron Heebner.

The flags will stay up for the remainder of the week.

The club also decorates the roundabout with flags for Memorial day.
