Arrest in Owego stabbing

Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Tioga County man was charged with felony assault after a stabbing that sent the victim to the hospital with serious injuries.

Shane M. Walker, 25, of Nichols, was arrested for a stabbing that happened in the early morning of Saturday, June 21.

Deputies with the Tioga County Sheriff's Office responded after 1 a.m. to the Owego Beer Garden located at the corner of Lake and Main Streets.

The victim was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital with serious injuries, according to Pat Hogan, senior investigator.

The victim's name has not been released. Hogan said the victim and Walker did not know each other.

Walker was arraigned in the Village of Owego court on a charge of assault in the second degree, a class D felony.

He was sent to Tioga County Jail on $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
