Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Do you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur?
One new event helps you find out.
Organizers kicked off the first ever Startup Weekend in the Southern Tier..
Local entrepreneurs got the chance to pitch ideas to the group and vote on what they thought was the best idea to work in the local community.
For many it was a great way to gain networking experience. But for some it was a chance to have an idea come into place and have others help with the project...
"it's great to have these opportunities around the campus. It definitely, for us students and my group, its great to have them here and experience a networking event because not everyone is able to experience it," said Binghamton University sophomore Holden Ottolini.
"I find Startup Weekend is actually the perfect place for someone who has an idea but doesn't have the means or the resources to make the dream come true, as they say," said Organizer Joe Garrant.
The event continues through the weekend at the Binghamton Riverwalk Hotel & Conference Center.
