State Police Investigate Death at William George Agency

The New York State Police at Ithaca are investigating a reported death which occurred to a resident of the William George Agency in the Town of Dryden, Tompkins County, New York.

On October 13, 2010, at approximately 7:18 PM, Tompkins County 911 received a call requesting an ambulance for an unresponsive male at the William George Agency, a New York State Office of Children and Family Services licensed facility.

The investigation revealed that resident Alexis Javier Cirino-Rodriquez, age 20, became unresponsive after a physical incident involving intervention by the staff from the facility.

CPR was initiated by staff members from the William George Agency, and was continued by the Dryden Ambulance squad, who transported Rodriquez to Cortland Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

An autopsy was conducted this date at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, New York, by Forensic Pathologist Dr. James Terzian. Results of the autopsy are pending.
