Stolen Cars, Guns, Recovered in Broome County

Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Three people are in in jail after Broome County Sheriff's Office Highway Patrol Division found a stolen vehicle behind the Super 8 Motel on Old Front Street that led to more recovered items.

The investigation revealed that another vehicle was stolen from a local auto repair shop on Tuesday night and had not yet been reported stolen.

When the first car broke down in the Walton area, the suspects left the car and stole another one that was found behind the Super 8 Motel.

When patrol cars arrived at the scene on Old Front St., the three suspects fled.

Two stolen guns from a burglary in Pennsylvania, a rifle and a sawed off shotgun were found inside the vehicle.

The ongoing investigation by the Broome County Sheriff's Department has led to the arrests of all three suspects.

Charges:
Omar L Jones, 19, of Erie P.A. was charged with
-Two counts of felony possession of stolen property
-One count of felony weapons possession.

Joshua J Hanson, 28, of Erie P.A. was charged with
-One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd for the sawed off shotgun
-Two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property felony (vehicles)
-One count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property (credit card)
-He was also arrested as a fugitive from Justice from the state of Pennsylvania on a Parole Warrant.

Jamie L Barton, 26, of Erie P.A. was charged with
-One count Felony possession of Stolen Property
-One count Felony possession of Stolen Weapons

All three remain in Broome County Jail without bail.
