House robberies lead to arrest

Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Syracuse man was arrested after allegedly stealing from homes in Ithaca.

Ithaca police said they responded just before 12:15 a.m. to a burglary in progress on Stewart Avenue.

While investigating the alleged robbery, another report of a burglary in progress came in from a few residences down at 114 Stewart Ave..

The resident at the second home described a man who stole a television from the apartment.

Based on a description, officers found Eric E. Russell, 29, of Syracuse, on Seneca Street.

Cornell University police assisted Ithaca police in the investigation and arrest.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and there may be more charges.

Charges:
Burglary, second degree, class C felony
Petty larceny, class A misdemeanor
Criminal mischief, class A misdemeanor
