Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Do you have an idea you want to put into action?

The TED-X conference held at Binghamton University on Sunday educated people on how to do that.

TED, technology, entertainment and design, spreads the word about finding your ideas and making them a reality.

The student-planned conference hosted innovative speakers from the technology and science world. More than 1,200 attended.

It took a lot for the B-U students to pull it off. To have an official TED talk event, students flew a professor to California to get their event licensed.

The catch phrase of TED is "ideas worth spreading..." and that's what the organizers wanted for their classmates.

"TED is supposed to be fun. It's supposed to be engaging, and so we hope that people are able to take that away from it and that they also walk out talking about these ideas," said Jonathon Posperi, Associate Director.

The organizers of the event said that if just one person went home and Googled a topic they learned about, then the conference was successful.
