The Fireman's Field Days are prepping for crowds

Apalachin, NY (WBNG Binghamton) After taking a year off due to the Hurricane Sandy and Tropical Storm Lee, the Apalachin Fireman's Field Days are back and ready for the crowds.

The field days started back in 1960 in a field on East Main Street.

The goal was to raise money to purchase equipment for the fire department.

The event starts this Wednesday and runs for four days, featuring a bicycle giveaway, fireworks, Little Miss Apalachin contest, a hose contest and parade.

The grounds open on June 5th at 6p.m.. The event runs through Saturday June 8th. The grounds will open that Saturday at noon.
