Town of Maine, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A new marketing effort at the Greater Binghamton Airport will make travelers more aware of what Broome County has to offer.
The Pillars of the Community Campaign will showcase local businesses, organizations and educational institutions.
The campaign will bring $50,000 to the airport over a two-year period, according to Broome County Executive Debbie Preston.
The businesses and organizations involved will advertise on the pillars that will run through the airport.
"The Binghamton airport is the gateway for many people who come into the area for the first time, whether it be for business or leisure purposes. It is in our best interest to showcase the community in the best light to these visitors," said County Aviation Commissioner, Carl Beardsley.
As of this week, 11 businesses and organizations are signed up to advertise. There are more pillars to be filled, and the goal is to fill all of them.
