Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Here's what's happening today across the Southern Tier:

Safety technicians will be on hand at the Burlington Coat Factory in the Oakdale Mall checking car seats to make sure they are installed properly as part of "National Seat Check Saturday."

Car accidents are the leading cause of death for children up to 13 years old.

Parents should bring their child, vehicle, car seat, and the instruction manual, if available. The event runs from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

The American Cancer Society is hosting a "Bark for Life" event at Otsiningo Park in the Town of Dickinson.

The non-competitive walk honors cancer survivors, pays tribute to loved ones lost, and offers support to those still battling the disease.

There will be contests, games, and demonstrations for paws of all sizes and their owners. The event takes place from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Registration begins at 12:30pm.

And in Binghamton, the Second Annual Downtown Living Tour provides a glimpse into the city's lofts, condos, studios, and more.

The Preservation Association of the Southern Tier, also known as PAST NY, is running the tours.

The self-guided tours begin at 1:00pm. Admission is $20. You can pick up your tour map at Past NY's office on 89 Court Street.
