Three Arrested After Trying to Pawn Off Stolen Chainsaws

Cortlandville, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Three men are arrested in Cortlandville after police say they stole and tried to pawned off three chain saws.

Police arrested Matthew Schooley, 32, Michael Murtha, 23, and Jeffery Craig Jr., 35.

Police say they entered a storage building on Route 13 in Cortlandville where they stole the chainsaws.

They pawned off of one them at a local pawn shop.

Schooley and Murtha were stopped in Riverside Plaza where they were waiting to meet someone who would buy the remaining two.

All three were charged with burglary, petit larceny and conspiracy.

They were sent to Cortland County Jail on $15,000 cash bail or a $30,000 bond.
