Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton)  The Levene, Gouldin and Thompson Tennis Challenger is set to begin on July 12 at Recreation Park in Binghamton.

The winner of the tournament will walk away with $50,000. The nine-day event is free to the public and has a history of bringing in top talent from across the globe...

“Over the years we’ve had a world number one come through here, but it’s just unique to see some up-and-coming players who after they leave here go on to unseed a rank player at one of the major events,” said Laurie Bowen, Tournament Director.

The LGT Tennis Challenger took its first swing in 1994.

Past participants include former Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray.

Those unable to make it out to Recreation Park can watch the event online.
