(WBNG Binghamton) Residents in the Town of Conklin may need to find alternate travel routes due to a road closure on Powers Road.
Broome County Department of Public Works is announcing the road closure will start on Monday, August 11 will run through Friday, August 15.
Canadian Pacific Railroad will be completing construction of the railroad crossing upgrades, and will be placing appropriate barricades as well as work zone and detour signage along the impacted routes to direct the traveling public around the closed crossing.
Powers Road will be open to traffic on either side of the railroad crossing.
However, through traffic traveling east towards NYS Route 7 (Conklin Road) will be detoured onto Hardie Road (CR 189) then to Shaw Road (CR 173) to access NYS Route 7 (Conklin Road).
