Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) As bidders for a new casino license are preparing to stand before the state's gaming commission on September 8, they're asking you to do the same on September 24. Some will even provide transportation to help.

Traditions at the Glen will be providing transportation from their site to Hotel Ithaca, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 24.

The gaming commission will hold a public comment hearing, allowing individuals to speak for five minutes.

Public opinion and support will play a significant role in the commission's decision, as to who will be awarded the license.

Traditions at the Glen will be the first to stand before the gaming commission on September 8.

Owner Bill Walsh said they plan to not only set the bar high and leave a lasting impression, but to show what this would mean for the community.

"We're going to bring in a thousand construction jobs to build this facility," Walsh said, "And then after that's done, we are going to have another thousand jobs permanent on site here."

Traditions at the Glen is one of three bidders for one Las Vegas-style casino license that will go to the Southern Tier region.

The others are Tioga Downs in Nichols and the Lago Resort and Casino in Tyre.
