Travel advisory: April 21 - April 25

Binghamton, N.Y. (WBNG Binghamton) Motorists are advised that Prospect Mountain construction work will be performed on the following Binghamton City streets from Monday, April 21 to Friday, April 25 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.

Prospect Street will have alternating lane closures between Karlada Drive and Front Street. 

Chenango Street will experience alternating lane closures between Moffatt Avenue and Sturges Street.

Front Street will experience alternating lane closures between Prospect Street and Bevier Street.

Flag personnel will be at each location to guide traffic through the work zones.

State Route 17 eastbound exit 72 to Front Street will close at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 21.

The exit will reopen at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, weather permitting.

During the time of closure, a detour sign will guide motorists to Interstate 81 northbound to Front Street (exit 5).

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for work zone infractions. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
