Two arrested for shoplifting from Walmart

Town of Norwich, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Deputies chased and arrested two people accused of stealing about $600 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of Joshua Wishart, 22, and Allen Sorrell, 24, both of Rome, Sunday.

The office said the two ran from Walmart security after stealing the merchandise. A sergeant chased them on foot behind Taco Bell. They were caught near B and D Pools.

Both were found with the stolen property on them. Sorrell was also found with a hypodermic instrument on him.

Wishart and Sorrell were arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court.

Both were charged with one count of petit larceny, conspiracy in the 6th degree, and resisting arrest.

Sorrell was also charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.

They were sent to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail.
