Sheshequin Township, PA (WBNG Binghamton) PennDOT engineers determined a slide along a southbound section of Sheshequin Road is too unstable.

PennDOT said the slide has taken part of a retaining wall and the roadway shoulder to the edge of the pavement. Its engineers are advancing the schedule for a multi-million dollar soil-slide-repair project in the area. Construction is set for 2014.

The slide in the Sheshequin Narrows is located about one mile north of the intersection with Ridge Road, near the pull-off overlooking Tioga Point. The traffic detour uses Route 1052 or Ridge Road and Route 1054 or Orange Hill Road.
