Maine, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Starting this summer, flights will go to and from New York City from Greater Binghamton Airport.

Starting this summer, flights will go to and from New York City from Greater Binghamton Airport.

United Airlines announced three new flights to Newark Liberty National Airport beginning June 6, 2014.

"We are optimistic about this new air service," says Broome County Executive Debbie Preston. "The change allows passengers to fly into the New York City area, something that hasn't been an option in nearly two decades."

Flights will leave Binghamton at 6:00 am, 11:38 am, and 4:53 pm, and arrive in New York City at 7:25 am, 12:57 pm, and 6:09 pm respectively.

Departure flights from the big apple back to Binghamton will be at 9:45 am, 3:00 pm, and 10:00 pm. They will arrive back at BGM at 11:10 am, 4:25 pm, and 11:25 pm respectively.

"We appreciate the continued confidence United Airlines has in the Binghamton market, which is demonstrated clearly by scheduling flights to one of their largest hub airports," says Preston.

These three new Newark flights will replace existing flights that go to Washington, D.C.
