(WBNG Binghamton) The largest, privately owned scrap metal processing and recycling center on the east coast plans to grow even larger, according to an Upstate Shredding spokesperson.

Upstate Shredding announced the acquisition of Brant Auto Parts, which serves Western New York.

Brant Auto Parts is located in Chautauqua County and specializes in recycling scrap metal.

Officials from Upstate Shredding say the deal is "all cash" and all Brant Auto Parts employees will keep their jobs.

The deal helps Upstate Shredding move forward with its western expansion plan.

With the acquisition, Upstate Shredding will have 18 locations throughout New York and Pennsylvania.
