Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A message about post traumatic stress disorder falls on empty seats at the American Red Cross in Endicott Tuesday night.

Since January, the Red Cross has been hosting veteran information nights.

Organizers hope the program will offer veterans support as they come back from duty.

Tuesday night, Binghamton Vet Center leaders came to speak about PTSD but veterans did not show up.

Organizers say PTSD is a difficult topic for people to talk about, especially in front of a room full of people.

Nevertheless, leaders say PTSD is a very important issue facing veterans.

"Sometimes veterans experience more severe problems. They may have intrusive memories. They may have anxiety that is interfering with their ability to work or have family relationships and relationships with friends," says Allison Miller from the Binghamton Vet Center.

The veteran information nights will continue throughout the year.

The next meeting will be Tuesday August 23. The topic will be Traumatic Brain Injury.
