Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An investigation into the illegal sale of tobacco leads to the discovery of several more violations at a Johnson City business and, ultimately, it's closure.

Johnson City police say the One Stop Shop on Main Street was the focus of a lengthy, multi-agency investigation. Investigators seized a large amount of untaxed tobacco and cigars from the store, and then found the store had a number of fire safety and health code violations.

Investigators say the store was also employing workers without workmen's compensation insurance.

From that, the store was issued a stop work notice from the New York State Workmen's Compensation Board and shut down.

Criminal charges are pending.
