Smoke from house fire filled intersection

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Streets were forced to close Friday afternoon in Binghamton as flames and smoke tore through a home.

The Binghamton Fire Department responded just after 1:30 p.m. Friday. to 100 Walnut St. for heavy smoke in the area.

Once on the scene crews saw a fully engulfed fire in what is believed to have three apartments.

The Binghamton Fire Department closed the intersection of Main and Walnut streets.

Crews fought from all sides of the house for nearly one hour.

"As you can see there are multiple lines going into the front of the building,a ll sides are laddered, and another line to the rear exposure of the house right behind it," Binghamton Chief Daniel Thomas said.

Thomas added no one was injured, and the cause remains under investigation.
