(WBNG Binghamton) A Walton man was arrested after authorities said he shot to death two Siberian Huskies in the Town of Tompkins last month.

The Delaware County Sheriff's office arrested Jared Boice, 34, charging him with two counts of animal cruelty, a misdemeanor.

Action News reported Tuesday, the bodies of the two dogs were found Friday afternoon by a resident walking along Finch Hollow Road in the Town of Tompkins.

The resident then contacted the Sheriff's Office, and deputies initiated an investigation, revealing that the dogs had been missing since February.

Boice will appear in the Town of Tompkins court at a later date.
