Wanted man, wife arrested with drugs, gun

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Binghamton couple was arrested Monday in a hotel room in the town of Chenango on charges of having heroin and a loaded revolver.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office arrested James A. Singer, 33, of Binghamton, and his wife, Christine M. Singer, 25, of Binghamton, on Monday.

Deputies said they found James and his wife in a hotel in the town of Chenango.

James was found in possession of a loaded H&R .22 caliber revolver, according to the sheriff's office, and both he and Christine were in possession of seven bags of heroin and numerous bags used to package heroin.

James was wanted on an active arrest warrant out of Binghamton City Court for a previous charge.

Christine was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

James was arraigned in the Town of Chenango Court and charged with one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony, one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor, one count of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree and wanted on an active arrest warrant out of the City of Binghamton Court.

He was taken to the Broome County Sheriff's Correctional Facility where he is being held without bail.
