Deputies: Wanted woman caught after jumping from second story window

Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A wanted woman was arrested after she jumped out of a second story motel window, trying to evade deputies.

After receiving a tip, the Broome County Sheriff's Office went to a motel in the Town of Union to look for Angel Brodie, 20, of Endicott.

Deputies said Brodie was wanted on a warrant for prison contraband.

After refusing to unlock her motel room door, Brodie jumped out of a second story window and started running away, according to deputies.

Deputies said Brodie was caught after about a 200-yard chase.

A small amount of heroin and other drug paraphernalia was found in her possession.

Deputies also found Vincent Smith, 48, of Endicott in the hotel room. He had a warrant out for grand larceny and possession of burglary tools.

Brodie and Smith were taken to the Broome County Jail.

Brodie was charged with:

- Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, class A misdemeanor
- Criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, class A misdemeanor
- Obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, class A misdemeanor

Smith was charged with:

- Grand larceny in the fourth degree, class E felony
