Water Main Break

Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A major water main break in the Village of Endicott prompts residents to conserve water Saturday.

It happened near Franklin Street and Robble Avenue around 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

This is the main feed of the Endicott water system.

The Endicott Water Department says this is the main feed to the Endicott water system.

Residents may have noticed discolored water and as a result are asked not to wash their clothes for fear of staining them.

If your water is still dirty looking tonight, the Water Department suggests running your water cold for five minutes.

If it doesn't clear up after that, wait an hour and do it again.

The water department says the main is about seventy years old and could take a few weeks to repair.

The village is also asking that people conserve water for a few days.
