Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Southern Tier welcomed some of the newest United States citizens.

Friends and family were there to see more than 30 men and women from all around the world take the oath and receive a certificate making them naturalized U.S. citizens.

Representatives from both state and private groups were there to offer their congratulations for those who finished what is not always an easy journey.

"Even before I came to the United States I always dreamed about being a United States Citizen. Because you have so many opportunities here, and you can travel anywhere and there is just a good life here," said Lena Andrushyna-Sabino.

After the ceremony, the American Civic Association hosted a reception.
