Wendy's Walk Presents Checks to Children's Charities

Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Four area children's charities received welcome donations from a walk.

Wendy's Walk for Kids presented checks totaling more than $150,000.

That includes the Dave Thomas Foundation For Adoption, Boys & Girls Club, The Discovery Center, and The Magic paintbrush.

The 3rd Annual Wendys Walk took place in June during the Dick's Sporting Goods Open.

More then 600 people took part this year.

"Everybody's going to win," said Margaret "Pokey" Crocker, Executive Director of the Discovery Center of Southern Tier. "Certainly this time of year, and the things that happened in the community - this is an absolute wonderful wonderful gift that's been given."

The Dick's Sporting Goods Open and Wendy's are looking ahead to next year's Champions Tour event at En-Joie in Endicott.

The Wendy's Walk for Kids will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2012.
