Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton School District dives deeper into planning a new MacArthur Elementary school after the announcement of $40 million that will be awarded from FEMA.
The announcement came last week, saying the federal government will cover 75 percent of the project costs.
New York State will pay the remaining 25 percent.
At the monthly Binghamton School District board meeting members went over potential materials for the new school.
They focused their attention on creating a nurturing school atmosphere with sustainable materials and a resilience against future disasters.
