Town of Triangle, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Law enforcement has confirmed that 2 bodies were discovered at the scene of 54 Old Catskill Turnpike in the Town of Triangle.

Those bodies have been identified as Larry Oney, 61 and Allison Oney, 3.

Broome County Sheriff David Harder confirmed that the fire was the result of a domestic dispute.

Harder told Action News that the man stated he was going to set the house on fire and kill himself, along with a three year old child.

The woman involved in the dispute, Melissa Oney, 39, was taken to the hospital from the scene Saturday night.

The Sheriff's Office says Larry Oney cut her Achilles tendon, after she told him that she wanted a divorce.

Glenn Pahlmann, the First Assistant Chief of the Triangle Fire Company was first to arrive, and described his reaction to the incident.

"My crew is taking it pretty hard. And everybody that was here, you know? It's a major tragedy to lose a little girl. It's something that nobody wants to see," said Pahlmann

Larry Oney's death is being ruled a suicide.

Thee-year-old Allison Oney's death is being ruled a homicide.

According to the Sheriff's Office, both died of smoke inhalation. Deputies say both were shot as well.

Deputies say the family had no history of domestic violence.
