Whitney Point, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Neighbors lined the streets in Whitney Point as veterans worked to honor fellow soldiers.

Through a parade of people, the message to honor freedoms given to us by fellow soldiers was loud and clear.

Residents in Whitney Point said the parade has continued to grow.

Ron Sprague, a veteran, said it's important for younger generations to understand where their freedoms came from.

"Our youth should always remember the freedoms that were given to them by the sacrifices of our veterans. They should be taught in schools that these men and woman who gave their all should be honored forever," Sprague said.

Parade goers said they hope to see the celebration go on for years and remind people to honor those who are currently overseas fighting.
