Weather Damage in Tompkins County

Tompkins County, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Winds cause severe damage in Tompkins County.

Overnight, a tornado watch had been in effect.

Although no twisters have yet been confirmed, Ithaca city fire says there was significant building and tree damage along the South hill area of the city and in the town.

According to Tompkins County Communications, the weather also caused damage in the Danby area.

County emergency officials later said 6 homes were damaged and a number of trees were downed.

The Tornado Watch had progressed through Cortland County and northern Chenango County.

But fire officials in Cortland reported little damage.
