Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Locals gathered to drink wine for a good cause in Binghamton.

Dozens gathered downtown for a wine tasting and silent auction at Terra Cotta.

Those in attendance were able to bid in an auction and partake in raffles.

The proceeds benefit the Broome County Humane Society.

"We have about 150 animals in our shelter right now looking for a home. So it's important to help support them. All the money raised tonight will go towards things like sheltering them, investigating cruelty cases, supplies, things like that," said Laura Melville, the event coordinator for the Broome County Humane Society.

Thursday marked the third year of the fundraiser

Vestal Wine and liquor sponsored the event.
