Elderly woman dies after crash

Greene, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An elderly is dead after a one-crash on Route 12 in Greene last week.

Winifred Lindow, 77, was flown to the hospital after a one-car crash Wednesday morning.

Around 10:15 a.m., New York State Police, Village of Greene Police and the Greene Fire Department responded to the area of 686 Route 12, near McLean Lane.

Lindow was driving a 2006 Chevy Cobalt, went off the road and hit a tree, according to state police.

Emergency responders used the jaws of life to extricate the woman from the vehicle.

She was flown from the airport in Greene to UHS Wilson Hospital in Johnson City.

There's no further information about what caused Lindow to go off the roadway.
