Woman charged with stealing $20,000 from law firm

Troy, PA (WBNG Binghamton) A Bradford County woman is arrested after $20,000 is discovered missing from a law firm's accounts.

Misty Jo Greeno, 31, of Columbia Crossroads, is charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal attempt/escape.

State Police at Towanda, the charges were filed after a forensic audit of the Brann, Williams, Caldwell and Sheetz Law Firm revelead a large sum of money missing.

An analysis of the accounts determined Greeno received over $20,000 in cash from various sources and failed to deposit the money into the law firm's account.

When police told Greeno she was under arrest and was being taken into custody, she tried to escape by running for the exit door of the State Police barracks in Towanda. Police took her into custody and she was arraigned on the charges.

Greeno was taken to the Bradford County jail on $10,000 bail.
