Woman arrested for stealing prescription drugs from hospital

(WBNG Binghamton) A Binghamton woman is charged with two felonies after controlled substances go missing from a local hospital.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division arrested Megan E Gismot, 29, Binghamton.

Gismot was taken into custody on March 20 after an investigation into missing controlled substances from Wilson Hospital.

Gismot is accused of falsifying business records and stealing controlled substances while working as a pharmacy technician at Wilson.

She is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and falsifying business records, also a felony.

Gismot was arraigned in the Village of Johnson City Court and released pending further court action.

The New York State Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement assisted in the investigation.
