Camera catches teen stealing

Town of Windsor, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A surveillance camera caught a young teenager breaking into a home, according to the sheriff's office.

A local resident return to his house Wednesday evening on Dickinson Road and noticed that some items were missing or out of place.

A surveillance camera was set up because of past burglaries, according to the Broome County Sheriff's Office. The home owner reviewed the footage and found a young man he recognized rummaging through his property. Both jewelry and cash were missing.

The home owner contacted sheriff's office, who identified the suspect as a 16-year-old neighbor.

When questioned, the teen admitted to stealing the property. According to the sheriff's office, most of the property stolen, was recovered.

The 16-year-old was charged with a felony count of burglary in the second degree. His name is withheld due to his age.
