Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Students at Johnson City Middle School learned about team building and perseverance from a former Olympic athlete.

On Friday morning, students in grades sixth through eighth took part in Olympic themed team building activities and watched inspirational videos that focused on perseverance.

Randy Will, a former Olympic bobsledder, talked to students about his experience competing in the Olympic Games.

"My message to the kids is pretty simple, you can do whatever you want to do," said Will, "No matter where you come from, no matter what you have, no matter what your goals are, you can set a goal and achieve that goal just by being positive about yourself, looking forward and not saying no."

Teams of students also created their own flags with a JC Wildcat theme.
