Some veterans in Tioga County receive an extra-special honor this Veteran's Day.
Route 38 is officially dedicated in honor of Vietnam Veterans.
Dozens of Vietnam Veterans were on hand for the unveiling of the New York State Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Highway of Valor.

The sign is outside the county's Health and Human Services building, but will soon be moved to Turner's Bridge in Owego.

The ceremony included the playing of TAPS and a 21 gun salute.

Its a very great honor for me, for all the things I did, for being in Vietnam, part of what I did. It just feels good. We finally got some recognition after all these years."

Earlier in the day, dozens of people joined veterans at the Tioga County All-Wars memorial outside the county courthouse.

The names of veterans both past and present were read, while wreaths and American flags were placed on the monuments for each of the wars.
