Paul M. Eldred, 89, of Hawleyton went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Fairview Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his wife Marcia, sisters Helen, Lulu, Luella, brothers Gordon and Henry, sisters-in-law Martha Eldred and Caroline Orton, brothers-in-law Tom Jennings, Vern Vergason, and William Reynolds. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Kathy and Feyi Gaji of Vestal, Barbara and Michael West of Johnson City, Nancy Perry of Vestal and Dayle Perry of Binghamton; son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Sheila Eldred of Hawleyton; sister Corabelle Vergason; sister-in-law Arlene Eldred brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Robert and Karen Smales, Janice Reynolds and Larry Orton all of Hawleyton; Grandchildren Crystal and Kyle Sheldon, Ashley West, Rebecca and Rachel Perry, Melanie Eldred; many nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army. He retired from the IBM Corporation and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a lifelong member of the Hawleyton United Methodist Church, where he was the treasurer for over 40 years..

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday 11:00am at the Hawleyton United Methodist Church. His pastor, the Reverend William Puckey will officiate. Burial will be in Hawleyton Cemetary in the spring. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main Street, Johnson City. Donations in his memory may be made to the Hawleyton United Methodist Church or Good Shepherd Fairview Home.
