Susan C. Motsko, 63, returned to her heavenly father on Friday, February 27, 2009. She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Marian Darling; mother and father-in-law, William and Martha Motsko. Susan is survived by her husband of 42 years, William; three sons and daughters-in-law, William Jr. (Vicki), Matthew (Kelle) Juan Carlos (Claudia) Pena; two daughters and son-in-law, Christine (Curt) Percy, Tina Motsko; grandchildren, Juan David, Viviana, Gabrielle, Tanner and William; sister and brother-in-law, Judy (Ralph) Minturn; brother-in-law, Allen (Carol) Motsko; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Susan was a wonderful and active wife, best friend, mother, teacher, athlete and coach. She attended Jordan-Elbridge High School and received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from SUNY Cortland. She taught physical education, elementary and high school mathematics over a period of twenty-three years in the Tioga Center, Owego-Apalachin, and Newark Valley School Districts. Susan was very active in the student foreign exchange programs and Special Olympics. She served on the Board of Directors for the Tioga County Boys and Girls Club, and as a literacy volunteer. An active athlete through much of her life, Sue enjoyed many sports, coaching, outdoor sports, computer games, math and word puzzles, and being a world traveler

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Owego with the Rev. William Moorby, officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. Memorial contributions may be made in Susan Motsko's memory to the Tioga County Boys & Girls Club, 201 Erie St, Owego, NY 13827 or the Apalachin Special Olympics "A" Team, C/O John Crosby, 31 Londonderry Lane, Owego, NY 13827.
