Maura Clapper, 66, of Binghamton, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2009 after a courageous battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Claire Guthmuller, husband Delos R. Clapper, and two sons; Jay A. Clapper and Stephen E. Clapper. She is survived by; her children, Raymond and Sheri Clapper, Dale Clapper, Lee Anne and Jack Roberts, Lori and Leslie Wyatt, Timothy Clapper and Katherine, Delos Clapper Jr., Debra and Joel Bender, Delores Button, Del Clapper and Veronica Besaw, Mary Clapper and Bob Maroney; grandchildren; great grandchildren; one sister, Kathy Guthmuller; one brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Ann Marie Guthmuller; brother-in-law, Donald and Alberta Clapper; several nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved dog Babe who was her little scout. Maura worked as a waitress at the Red Robin Diner and as an administrative assistant at the Drug Awareness Center. She liked working with the public, loved listening to country music, and enjoyed summer evenings, going outdoors with a cup of tea and listening to the birds. Special thank you to Del and Veronica for their loving care of mom this past year. A celebration of Maura’s life will be held Tuesday May 12, 2009 at Noon at the Savage Funeral Home, 338-344 Conklin Avenue Binghamton, NY 13903 with her family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
