A happy ending to a scary story from Indiana, according to a report from Granite Broadcasting sister station Indiana's NewsCenter in Fort Wayne.
According to the report from Indiana's NewsCenter:
A Fort Wayne man and his dog were rescued New Year's Day after falling through the ice on a frozen pond.
Just after 3 p.m., rescue crews were called to the pond near the 1800 block of Shamrock Rd. The man said he went on the ice to rescue his dog, who fell through first.
A Dive Team member swam out to the man, who was about 70 feet from shore, and pulled him from the water.
The man was treated at the scene and released. The dog was also said to be fine.
