Man injured after moped hits dog

According to a report from Granite Broadcasting sister station Indiana's NewsCenter in Fort Wayne, Ind., an 840year-old Indiana man was seriously injured Wednesday after his moped collided with a dog.

According to the report from Indiana's NewsCenter:

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies and emergency personnel responded Wednesday around 1:30 p.m. to a reported crash north of Claypool, Ind. Officers located the driver of the moped in the roadway and being attended to by family members. Officials arrived immediately to the scene. Hawley suffered from multiple head injuries.

Investigators stated that the man had been traveling northbound on County Road 50 West driving his 1964 red Allstate 788 moped/scooter when a German Shepherd entered into the roadway.

The man was unable to avoid colliding with the canine and was thrown from the moped onto the roadway surface.
