With Yahoo!'s announced acquisition of social media platform Tumblr for $1.1 billion, Tumblr founder David Karp has yielded another significant windfall for the 26-year-old tech entrepreneur .

Not bad for Karp, who was home schooled after dropping out of high school at age 15.

It turns out that Karp isn't the only person who never finished high school to strike it big.

Business Insider has compiled a list of 10 successful people who dropped out of high school, with Karp now featured prominently.

Who else made the list?

Without spoiling the entire list, here's a couple more names: Virgin Media CEO Richard Branson and casino magnate Kirk Kerkorian.
