Six stars who have encountered serious tax trouble

Celebrities are no strangers to tax trouble. Their cases just get more publicity than the Average Joe.

The latest big-name to be targeted by the IRS? According to a report from the New York Daily News, singer Mary J. Blige is facing a $3.4 million federal tax lien. According to the Daily News, report, the IRS claims that Blige has not paid all of her income taxes for the past several years.

Here are a handful of other stars who have had tax troubles in recent years

1. Lauryn Hill

The Grammy-winning singer was sentenced earlier this month to three months in federal prison for failing to file taxes from 2005-09.

2. Lindsay Lohan

The troubled actress reportedly had her bank accounts seized by the IRS earlier this year in order to repay taxes owed from 2009 and 2010.

3. Wesley Snipes

The actor was released from prison in April after serving more than two years in prison for failing to file tax returns.

4. Nicholas Cage

The actor paid more than $6 million in back taxes last year as part of a massive bill, according to a report from TMZ

5. O.J. Simpson

The former football great -- currently in prison following a robbery conviction -- has multiple tax liens filed against him at a total that is approaching $600,000.

6. Pamela Anderson

The former Baywatch star was hit with a pair of tax liens late last year that check in at a total or more than $370,000.
