A scary situation for a bow hunter in Canada over the weekend.

According to a report from Granite Broadcasting sister station Northland's NewsCenter, the Ontario Provincial Police had to help a bow hunter out of this tree stand after multiple bears trapped the man for hours.

According to the report from Northland's NewsCenter:

Authorities were called to the camp in northwestern Ontario around 11pm Saturday on the report from a camp owner that a hunter had left for a tree stand around 2:30 that afternoon and had not returned.

The camp owner says they went to check on the hunter and learned that he had 4 cubs and 3 adult bears around the stand not allowing him to come down.

The officers along with the camp owner entered the wooded area where they were baiting the bears and successfully removed the hunter from the tree without incident.

Authorities say no shots were fired and there were no injuries reported.
